Boltzmann–Lotka–Volterra Interaction Model
CRAN
blvim 0.1.1 is available on the CRAN!
I am proud to announce the first release of blvim, version 0.1.1. The package provide a fast implementation of Alan Wilson’s Boltzmann–Lotka–Volterra (BLV) interaction model (which are quite popular in archaeology). The code is hosted on github and the package is also available on R-universe.
The package has been extensively tested (with a 100% code coverage). It comes with a short introduction readme, a thorough documentation and two vignettes:
- a theoretical background which summarises the main concepts used in the model (which a selected bibliography)
- a extensive demonstration of the exploration features of the package that illustrate the recommended methodology for BLV results analysis
I have also included in the package a interesting data set, the 121 French cities with more than 50,000 inhabitants (in 2022). I have used the OSRM engine to compute road based distances between those cites using OpenStreetMap data.
